Client: UK DJ legends Steve Bicknell and Alex Knight.

Moving image spots (15 second and full length) and videos for backtotheparty vinyl edits of classic dance music, for use on Instagram / social media and later as club visuals in their own right.

The client was very adamant about wanting something strong and simple after seeing this website, but needed design leadership beyond that. An open brief can be misleading, therefore a conceptual framework was devised as a solid design foundation. Budgets were very limited. 

Concept: Mainly based on three ideas...

(1)
Bold and colour coded typography: the logo was supplied uses the font Polly. Polly has some 1930’s traits which coincided with my thinking about the dynamic design sensibilities of Bauhaus and Herbert Bayer. Steve is also based in Berlin.

(2)
A three tier baseline grid that represents the three tenets of the BTTP ethos; reimagined, restructured, real house music. (Making track information a key part of the design aesthetic).

(3)
Deconstructed typography to emphasise the re-editing and technical nature of the track making process.

(Music, logo and first two colours were supplied; the rest is SnedLab).
